摘要

The local variation of absorption in a multicomponent sample due to a local variation of the sample structure is the basis of the well-known radiographic methods using x-rays or gamma-rays or beams of charged particles. The aim of the present work is to investigate the influence of the distribution of a strongly absorbing phase, embedded in a less absorbing matrix, upon the average transmission of radiation through a sheet of constant thickness.
