As suggested by recent literature a high manganese, high chromium, medium carbon steel (0.25C, 13Cr, 10Mn) is extremely cavitation-resistent. Since this steel is not available in this country, a small lot was induction melted and cast into bars. Tensile test on one of these bars, and cavitation erosion tests were conducted. (Author)
