An Analysis of a Cam Driven Density Gradient Pump

The problem of building a simple and efficient pump to deliver the desired density gradient to centrifuge tubes and rotors was considered and a design consisting of two cams connected to a common shaft, each cam driving an individual piston, was chosen. One delivery cylinder is filled with a dense solution, while the other is filled with a less dense solution. (Author)
