Control of the Austenite Grain Size by Small Additions of Titanium

The work established that very high austenite grain coarsening temperatures (approximately 1200 C) can be obtained in vacuum melted low Ti-high N carbon-manganese steels. It would appear that in the presence of niobium a lower titanium content was necessary to achieve similar results.
