摘要

With the support of the Weather Bureau, Environmental Science Services Administration, The Travelers Research Center, Inc. has developed a working quasi-automated system of data processing and an automated physical-numerical model for the prediction of many meteorological parameters in the boundary layer. The physical prediction model produces vertical profiles of wind, temperature specific humidity, specific liquid water content, and other parameters at selected station locations over a period of 12 hours from initial time. The model also predicts the surface heat balance temperature. The basic differential equations solved are the conservation laws for horizontal momentum, heat, water vapor and total water substance.
