Brief Analysis of Extended Care Facility Data Derived from DM and S Census, November 30, 1967

Published in 1969, this is the first in a series of studies on extended care facilities performed by the VA. A survey was conducted on November 30, 1967 of various Extended Care Facilities (VA Domiciliaries, State Domiciliaries, VA Nursing homes, State Nursing Homes, Community Nursing Homes and Restorative Centers). Although information was obtained on demographic, medical and special questions, tabulations were only produced for: (1) age; (2) race and sex; (3) compensation and pension; (4) marital status; (5) type of patient; (6) length of stay; and (7) period of service. Summary tables for the above variables for each of the extended care facilities are included in the appendices.
