摘要

The escalation in health insurance premiums for employer-sponsored plans over the last several years has had an impact on the characteristics of plans offered by employers and chosen by employees. This Statistical Brief discusses changes between 2005 and 2010 in the availability of and enrollment in employer-sponsored health insurance plans that required no employee contribution to the plan premium. The estimates shown in this Brief, which are drawn from the Insurance Component of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS-IC), look at single, employee-plus-one, and family coverage in the private sector of the economy. Changes for employees working for small and large firms are analyzed. All differences between estimates discussed in the text are statistically significant at the 0.05 level.
