Rigidity of 48 in. By 40 in. Lumber Pallets

A large number of non-reversible, double-face, flush, four-way, notched-stringer and block, 48 in. by 40 in., permanent warehouse pallets of many designs are being subjected to in-use service testing in the Pallet Exchange Program. The correlation of the in-use service test data with laboratory test data is the responsibility of the Wood Research and Wood Construction Laboratory of Virginia Polytechnic Institute. As a result of such correlation, it should eventually be possible to predict, on the basis of laboratory test data, the in-use service performance of various types of pallets which might be introduced in such pallet exchange programs.
