Element Building Systems in Apartment Blocks

The aim of this report is to present information on the present situation in Sweden regarding element-built apartment blocks. The building systems which have been included are thh either have a relatively large capacity and/or a constructional design which is especially interesting. Systems with a small capacity or whose construction is on the whole the same as that of another system presented here have not been included. The systems shown probably represent 80-90% of the total market. By the term 'element-built apartment blocks' it is meant that the structure is element-built. Two or three of the systems also use elements to a certain extent for non-loadbearing parts and installations. The systems presented are with one exception concrete element systems, and this shows the dominant position of concrete in Sweden in this field. (Author)
