Measurements have been made on four lines in the vibration-rotation and ten lines in the pure rotation region of the water vapor spectrum to determine the individual line intensities and half-widths. The major effort of the experimental procedure has been the precise determination of absorber thickness. The technique used was to continuously circulate the sample gas through a hygrometer and measure its dewpoint while the sample was being scanned. Detailed accounts are given of the apparatus used, the calibrations performed, the measurements made and the methods of data reduction. The theoretical equations have been brought to a form suitable for computation. (Author)
