Calibration of Carbon-In-Steel Analysers by Injection of High-Purity Carbon Dioxide

Calibration of two types of apparatus for the determination of carbon in steel by the injection of known volumes of high-purity carbon dioxide has been shown to be feasible. Two injection devices are described and their precision is compared with that of a manually operated, gas-tight syringe. Although the manual method yields results of adequate precision, elimination of operator skill simplifies and speeds up calibration and increases precision. (Author)
