Measurement of the financial condition of the farming sector of our economy is essential to a national policy. Such measurements include the debt and equity position of the sector, the amount and cost of financing required in farm production, the value and transfer of farm real estate, the taxes and the rates of taxation, and the expenditures for premiums on insurance used in farming.
