Automatic Photometric Determination of Boron in Mild Steel

摘要

An automatic photometric procedure for the determination of boron in steel using a Technicon Auto Analyser has been assessed for the accuracy, repeatability and speed to determine its suitability for application for routine and referee analysis of plain and low alloy steels. The procedure has been found to be more repeatable, simpler to operate and faster than manual methods but interference from titanium requiring application of corrections restricts its application to routine analysis.
