Non-human Primate Diploid Cell Strains.

摘要

Attempts were made to develop diploid cell lines suitable for use in the production of viral vaccines for humans. Kidney,muscle,and testes were taken from selected immature male rhesus (Maccaca mulata) and African green (Cercopithecus aethiops) monkeys to initiate cultures. Nine cell lines were established which supported the growth of a number of human viruses including polio and rubella;but many cell lines became heteroploid and the level of diploidy fell to 80% in the most stable line at passage 20.
