The noise level around an airport is a function of the number and type of aircraft which use the facility,the manner in which those aircraft are operated and the configuration of the airport. The noise problem around an airport is a function of the noise level and the use made of the surrounding lands. Alleviation of the airport noise problem then involves changes to all of these elements, i.e.,aircraft,airport and airport surroundings.
