摘要

Serial determinations of serum ornithine carbamyl transferase, sorbital dehydrogenase,glutamic dehydrogenase,and aspartate and alanine aminotransferases were made after the administration of single doses of chloroethylcyclohexyl nitrosourea and arabinosyl-6-mercaptopurine,cancer chemotherapeutic agents,to dogs. Both drugs produced hepatic damage as shown by changes in one or more of the liver function tests used. However,the magnitude of the rise in serum enzyme activity and the test which predicted for the hepatotoxicity were different for each compound. The nitrosourea predominately affected mitochondrial-linked enzymes while the mercaptopurine derivative produced a moderate increase in both cytoplasmic and mitochondrial enzymes. The data suggest that an expansion of serum enzyme determinations may allow for a better prediction of hepatic damage. (Author)
