The report covers and emphasizes the following areas of development: Surgical procedure for developing uremic dogs;Stabilizing uremic dogs;Feeding microencapsulated systems (stabilized urease and ammonia chemical binder) to uremic dogs;Production and maintenance of a uremic animal model with a percutaneous gut catheter;Measurement of selected nitrogenous metabolite concentrations in control and azotemic dogs;and Evaluation of stabilized urease microcapsules in uremic dog duodenal fluid.
