摘要

A method is described which gives an indication of steam in water circulation mains. The apparatus,which has been successfully applied to the large diameter risers and downcomers of the A and B vessels at Lackenby Works,consists of a standard ultrasonic set,two proprietary probes and two specially designed coupling blocks. The ability to detect steam was verified by a simulation using air bubbles in water. Over a period of several months,the results have shown close agreement with temperature and flow measurements.
