Ash and Quartz Content of Respirable Airborne Dust in a Number of British Coal Mines.

摘要

Respirable airborne dust samples,collected in a number of British coal mines,were ashed at 600 C. The quartz contents of the ashed samples were determined either by X-ray diffraction or by infra-red spectrophotometry. The report gives a summary and a statistical analysis of the results. A procedure for the routine examination of dust samples based on a routine ash determination followed by a quartz determination on a selected number of samples is proposed. (Author)
