Final Commissioning and Proving of the Scunthorpe Group ARL 72000/Honeywell 316 System-Analysis of Iron Ores, Sinters and Sinter Mixes

The ARL 72000 X-ray spectrometer installed at the Central Laboratories of the ApplebyFrodingham Works, Scunthorpe Group, has been calibrated to analyse a wide range of both low and high grade iron ores, sinters and sinter mixes. The samples for analysis were in the form of glass beads prepared at the Research Centre using the Schoeps machine, and the Honeywell 316 computer attached to the spectrometer was used to correct the analytical results for matrix interferences.
