The Optimization of the Vertical Alignment of the M5 Motorway from Chelston to Blackbrook,

The report describes test runs,on a section of the M.5motorway,running from Chelston to Blackbrook,of computer programs developed at the TRRL to optimize a vertical alignment with respect to costs of earthworks. It describes the phasing of the vertical alignment with the horizontal alignment. The costs of earthworks are given.
