摘要

The report discusses the results of a workshop to evaluate the state of the art of monitoring for toxic metals in the surface waters of North Carolina;the significance of present findings to human health and aquatic ecosystems;the adequacy of present programs as to coverage,technology,and coordination between monitoring agencies;needed changes in agency programs,laws and regulations;and research needs.
