摘要

The purpose and goal of this workshop was to bring together the chemists who are responsible for organic-pollutant analysis, and to serve as a forum to exchange the varied experiences and accomplishments that have occurred in this rapidly developing field. The emphasis of the workshop was placed upon the problems of sample collection, extraction, and fractionation prior to detection of the pollutants of interest by the appropriate detection techniques, Wherever pos¬sible, methods or procedures were stressed that were applicable to the analysis for general classes of organic compounds as opposed to pro¬cedures for individual compound identifications.
