Preliminary Performance Predictions for Electromagnetic Through-the-Earth Mine Communications.

The report comprises three working memoranda that present preliminary performance estimates for baseband voice and narrowband through-the-earth electromagnetic communications systems of principal interest to the Bureau of Mines for operational/emergency mine communications. The titles are the following:Signal power estimates for downlink through-the-earth baseband voice communications;Signal power estimates for uplink through-the-earth baseband voice communications;and,Spot S/N ratio estimates for uplink and downlink through-the-earth narrowband code communications.
