Production in Large Animals of the Antibody to Australia Antigen and the Development of an Immune Adherence Test for Australia Antigen.

摘要

Specific antiserum to Australia antigen in large animals has been produced. Eleven and one-half liters of specific horse antibody and one liter of specific sheep antibody were supplied to the sponsoring agency as a result of this project. In addition,it has been demonstrated that immune adherence hemagglutination can be successfully adapted to the detection of the Australia antigen. It proved approximately ten times more sensitive than complement fixation and on hundred times more sensitive than immunodiffusion.
