Appraisal of the Ameda Automated Microscope System for Coke Structural Analysis.

摘要

Quantitative structural analyses were carried out on three especially prepared standard coke blocks. The analyses were performed using manual and instrumental techniques,namely,point count,lineal analysis,and the employment of the AMEDA and Quantimet 720systems. The results of all four methods when compared by standard graphical and mathematical techniques were found to be significantly different. The instrumental methods gave anomalous results when compared with the manual methods,which are considered the most reliable. The reasons for the anomalies are explained by inadequacies in the instrumental techniques.
