Evaluation of Mine Electrical Systems with Respect to Safety,Technology,Economics and Legal Considerations.

Pennsylvania State University scientists have developed special analyzers and made measurements at various coal mines to acquire basic data regarding mine electrical power distribution. The report covers power analyses for working sections,ground bed and mine floor resistance data,and a description of power system computer simulation that is being developed. This research was devoted primarily to the aquisition of field data by utilizing a recently designed three-phase ac continuous power analyzer. Determination of the electrical performance characteristics and development of instrumentation on proceeded concurrently.
