The purpose of the tests was to evaluate whether or not a synthetic rubber can beneficially modify asphalt cement and subsequently enhance the qualities of a bituminous concrete. The five factors are: thickness of the bituminous surface (T),thickness of the gravel base (B),rubber solids (S),asphalt viscosity type (V) and asphalt content (C).
