MHD System with Dual Pressure Melt Gasification and CO2Recycle.

摘要

This report describes a possible method of generating cheaper power from coal with almost no air pollution. The process involves the principle of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD),an advanced system of electrical energy generation. The study covers a preliminary analysis of a conceptual coal-fired MHD power cycle involving a novel coal gasifier and recycle of carbon dioxide from the stack gas. No practical development work on the system has yet been done,but indications are that the system,or some variations of it,may have the potential of being useful in the development of lower cost more efficient power systems in the future.
