摘要

The three year (June 1970-May 1973) research project was to develop several hand assist devices and mobility aid control systems for the quadriplegic patient through intramuscular excitation of paralyzed muscle. Basic studies undertaken to examine application of electrical stimulation to control spasticity showed that such excitation is a potential means of providing motion to paralyzed limbs,with various methods and locales recording high degrees of success.
