Protecting Ischemic Myocardium,Minimizing Infarct Size,and Enhancing Myocardial Repair. Factors Affecting Recovery of Perfused Hearts Subjected to Hypoxia and Ischemia.

摘要

The perfused working rat heart preparation has been used to investigate the interrelationships between myocardial contractility and energy metabolism under compromising conditions of acidosis and diminished Ca(2+) availability. The approach to this problem has been along two converging lines;the first concerns regulation of contractility by flux of Ca(2+) across the sarcolemma and between intracellular organelles during the contraction-relaxation cycle,while the second concerned with elucidating the effects of acidosis and ischemia on myocardial substrate oxidation and a possible direct relationship to changes of myocardial contractility.
