摘要

Variations of the HYGAS Process-particularly methods of supplying the necessary hydrogen,are analyzed. The HYGAS Process is a method for making pipeline-quality gas (synthetic natural gas) from coal. A pilot plant,representing the final stage of process development,is being designed for construction in the Chicago area. The report concludes that electrothermal gasification for hydrogen supply has the potential of being useful in a coal-to-pipeline-quality-gas plant,and that the resulting pipeline gas price will be competitive.
