A Study of the Deformation Parameters of Kaolin.

摘要

The main object of the paper is to present a comparison between the deformation properties of a kaolin as determined from various triaxial test procedures. The deformation properties studied are the undrained Young's modulus,drained Young's modulus,drained Poisson's ratio and three-dimensional coefficient of consolidation. The effects of the duration of initial consolidation and the duration of undrained strain in a two-stage dead loading test are investigated and finally,data is presented on the dependence of the deformation parameters on the initial stress state and the level of shear stress in the sample,and also on the stress system imposed on the sample during initial consolidation prior to testing.
