摘要

The establishment and survival of grand fir and mountain hemlock seedlings in the Oregon Cascades were determined for a 2-year period following shelterwood cutting and a good seed crop. Mortality of both species was heavy; 71 percent of the fir and 90 percent of the hemlock seedlings initially established died. Number of seedlings per milacre was significantly correlated with amount of residual overstory.
