The broad objective of the assessment of the present and future role of weather modification in agricultural production is to make an authoritative evaluation of the present and potential role that weather modification can take in increasing national and world agricultural production. A specific objective includes the preparation of an authoritative document that can receive wide distribution and provide for extensive utilization of the results of the assessment. The actual assessment is being carried out in several stages. The principal investigators,with the aid of advisors and consultants,have organized and conducted the workshop to identify the needs of agriculture and the capabilities and risks of weather modification. This report is a compilation of the workshop materials.
