摘要

This project deals with lateral load distribution in non-lineal concrete shear wall systems. The work is being performed along two lines:Theoretical analyses using the finite element method and other more approximate techniques and experimental studies using fairly large microconcrete models. The objective of the investigation is to recommend practical guidelines for the economical design of shear walls to resist lateral loads safely. This report presents the analysis of a seven story shear wall building model,Model I using two different computer programs developed by Wilson and Ghali. The results are tabulated and compared for various cases of loadings. There was close agreement between the results obtained based on these two different methods.
