This publication is the fifth in a series of marsh inventory reports compiled by the Wetlands Research Section, Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Under Section 62. 1-13.4 of the Virginia Wetlands Act, the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences is obligated to inventory the tidal wetlands of the Commonwealth. This inventory program is designed to assist wetlands boards and other local, state and federal agencies which have responsibilities in managing wetlands. Its results are also of interest to scientists and other concerned citizens.
