Establishment of a Multi-Media Resources Center in the Division of Long Term Care

The contract was to conduct a comprehensive inventory of available literature and mixed media resources which relate to the subject of long-term care. The purpose of this project was to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date foundation, and related decision strategies, for improving the availability of these materials for the research and program personnel who must use them in their work. This document contains the findings and recommendations resulting from this inventory. A brief chronological history and the methodology employed in carrying out the inventory are first described. Next, the types and quantities of materials identified are described and a general profile of the information resources of long-term care is presented, together with suggestions for updating the collection. Procedures for acquiring, processing, and utilizing relevant materials are next proposed, along with estimated costs associated with their implementation. The final section of the report presents a summary of recommendations to the Division of Long Term Care concerning the decision steps and approaches which Capital Systems Group believes would be most cost-effective.
