Conservation and Better Utilization of Electric Power by Means of Thermal Energy Storage and Solar Heating. Solar Collector Performance Studies.

摘要

Comparative evaluation of 24types of flat-plate solar collector configurations was performed. In addition to insolation collection tests,separate experiments were conducted to determine heat losses. The experimental facilities utilized are described. The various collector configurations were designed with a view to improving the absorption of solar energy and to reducing the heat losses from the collector window. The collectors,as well as the major materials used in their construction,were experimentally evaluated.
