Crop Response to Warming Soils Above Their Natural Temperatures.

摘要

The subsurface application of heat to soil by circulating the warm water through a network of buried pipes was studied. The effect of increased soil temperatures on crop production was evaluated. In areas where crop irrigation is required,subsurface irrigation with warm water could be practiced or water taken from the soil heating loop could be applied with sprinklers. The crop yield response to soil warming,and the economic feasibility of production using these methods are described.
