Forest Residues in Hemlock-Spruce Forests of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska--A State-of-Knowledge Review with Recommendations for Residue Management

The report discusses residue management in moist North Pacific Coastal Forests, first as part of the Western Hemlock-Sitka Spruce Ecosystem, then as dead and decaying material after logging considering the fire hazard and silvicultural, physical, chemical, and esthetic effects. Residue treatments are described, evaluated, and recommended.
