The purpose of this supplement is to update the Safety Evaluation Report by providing (1) our evaluation of additional information submitted by the applicant since the issuance of the Safety Evaluation Report, (2) the results of our review of technical areas for which our review was not yet completed at the time of issuance of the Safety Evaluation Report,and (3) a discussion of our response to the comments of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards. The staff has concluded that the South Texas Project can be constructed and operated as proposed without endangering the health and safety of the public.
