摘要

One method of meeting the need for economical,low-pollutant-burden electrical energy generators is through the direct conversion of solar energy to electrical power using photovoltaic devices,solar cells made from silicon. The objective of this research project is to develop the technology of 'edge-defined,film-fed growth' (EFG),the continuous production of crystal silicon ribbons suitable for manufacturing low-cost silicon solar cells. Various factors have combined to make this research useful to those individuals or industries contemplating methods for mass production of solar cells.
