The report presents information on the state of the art of seasonal and time-of-day forecasting and explores new methodologies for handling long-run conditional forecasting problems. Topics discussed included model selection,short-term forecasting,model identification in peak power demand forecasting,intermediate term forecasting of system loads using Box-Jenkins time series analysis,load forecasting methodologies in the electric utility industry,estimation of the residential demand cycle for electricity,recent developments in forecasting techniques and strategy,time-series modeling and forecasting,and industrial and commercial rate structures and econometric estimation of the demand for electricity.
