A Safety Evaluation Report,providing comments on the proposed operation of the Light Water Breeder Reactor core in the Shippingport Atomic Power Station,has been prepared by the Office of Nuclear Regulation of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Comments on such operation had been requested by the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration,Division of Naval Reactors. The U.S. Government owns the Shippingport reactor plant,and the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration is responsible for the conduct of the Light Water Breeder Reactor program.
