A program of development and testing of an instantaneous volume blood flowmeter using catheter probes has been conducted. Heated thermistors sense blood velocity and an ultrasonic transducer measures vessel diameter. Volume blood flow is approximated by multiplying blood flow velocity by vessel cross sectional area based upon the diameter measurement. Portions of this document are not fully legible.
