摘要

The first wall of a fusion reactor must withstand the impact of energetic charged particles and photons escaping from the plasma as well as intense neutron flux. The design and materials selection for the first wall of a fusion reactor represents one of the critical problem areas for achievement of fusion power. This report on project 115-2shows that high energy ions can results in large effective sputtering coefficients and may contribute significantly to projected first wall erosion rates.
