摘要

The experimental procedures employed in dynamic photoelasticity are reviewed. A multiple spark camera is described as a method to record dynamic fringe patterns. The problem of wave propagation and fracture in an entire plane with a center of dilatation loading is considered. The full field visualization of dynamic photelasticity permits the interaction between the stress waves and crack fronts to be examined. The fracture process is examined in detail and characteristics associated with fracture initiation,propagation,and arrest are described.
