Forced Cooling of High Pressure Oil Filled Underground Cable Systems.

摘要

A test program on forced cooled underground cable systems is described and provides important design information for the utility engineer specifying such systems. Test results as obtained from measurements made at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's Saratoga R&D Center using two 600foot cable systems --on 345kV and 230kV cables --establish design and performance trends relating to thermal resistance of insulation as a function of temperature,pressure drops as a function of cable positioning,and performance/economic tradeoffs associated with various design and installation options. Effects of high speed pumping on oil properties are also examined.
