摘要

Of the many materials tested so far, only tetramethyldisiloxane appeared to adsorb albumin out of normal plasma to some degree. Various carbon-coated materials adsorbed fibrinogen out of plasma without converting it rapidly. The importance of fibrinogen adsorption to subsequent platelet adhesion may have its parallel in the role of globulin adsorption to subsequent granulocyte adhesion. The authors found that in whole blood or plasma, these cells adhered and spread only where a hydrophobic (rather than a hydrophilic) material had been pre-exposed to gamma globulins. Since either adsorbed globulin orientation or perhaps selective adsorption of Kallikrein is the cause,it too will be studied.
